Disability Rights And Access To Jobs, Medical Treatment and Housing

DISABILITY RIGHTS LINK

In Australia the Human Rights and Equal Opportunities Commission (HREOC) has acknowledged that MCS is a disability covered by the Disability Discrimination Act. A letter sent to the ASEHA President in May 2004 from the Disability Discrimination Commissioner substantiates this. Complaints of disability discrimination can be made to HREOC website www.humanrights.gov.au/disability_rights.

DISABILITY JOB ACCESS LINK

The Australian Government Job Access Website includes Multiple Chemical Sensitivity as a Disability. JobAcces has been designed for employers, job seekers and employees with disability, their co-workers and employment service providers. JobAccess is an initiative of the Australian Government to support the employment of people with disability. MCS Disability Information can be accessed at www.jobaccess.gov.au/joac/advice/disabilitytwo/multiple_chemical_syndrom.htm
